11/28/2004 asdf? asdf!

The day is young, the night has faded, the morning so sudden. Its already 1am! What am i doing online? I have a chruch service to attend tommorow at 8am, supposing i sleep now, how do i get my minimum 8 hours of sleep? Is sleeping so little really that little ? Regardless, yesterday(the day 1 hr ago) was an interesting day...sort off. Watched Cartoons in the morning, DigimonFrontiers and Pokemon advance generation! What a regular day's start.

Kept ignoring Andrew's call due to the priority of pokemon. Sorry. Initially, the plan was to go with andrew to bandworld to buy band equipment and accessories. Reality: Bandworld is close on satuadays. Intesting isn't it? The busiest day of the week, yet its close. Headed to npcb's clubhouse to do library work. After all, i am a librarian, I have duties to perform. Stuck serial numbers on some music scores, with the help of many. I thank god for those who volunteered. I found practise quite demoralising...as usual. Its not that i like to critize others, plus my playing ain't the standard i wish i were at, but fundermentals weren't even in place, basics were not there and foundation was shaky.

I sometimes wonder, Desmond the trombonist, i find him quite a good player, yet it is weird to see him slacking all the time. when i say all the time, i mean ALL the time. Maybe i don't see him practising.

After band, did library work continued. Left to meet 3 good friends, krik, doom and fool. As per normal, i enjoyed myself haha. We ate dinner and drink coffee. Bet u're wondering how fun that could be. It doesn't matter what you wonder. you're just reading an online blog by me, nicholas, a person who doesn't entirely trust the internet and its millions of users who stare into electronic equipment that flicker so fast causing u not to see the flicker. We talked about lots of crap. The summary and timeline of our talks are really weird. Begining of with coffee, we arrived at stuffing durians up your ass and magnetic trains that offered mach 8 speed and 9 Gs of force. People always say its quality time to have been there for a long time, yet thinking its a short time. I tink it shoudl be the reverse, we were there for a short time, but feel its a long time...not because its bored, but because we hvae quality time and every second is utilized to its potential. Thats what i call good quality talk.

Good night/morning! its already 130am

11/27/2004 i hope my life is exciting -_-"

What a bad alarm clock. It rang 1 hour to early. This alarm clock... a piece of plastic with a shiny metalic look, though quite young, feels as though its been through tough times. This i am refering to is my 3120 Nokia scam. Buying it at a sweet price of $367, only to realise its actually a replicated 3100 with a nice looking cover. Recieved an sms from yongthieng asking me whether i was going for band fest. Yulp i am going...sadly not as a performer -_-. Go acjcband! With Ben pooi clarinet boy, clarinet should be pro haha :P.

A few days ago, I finally met up with my mei mei and some juniors. It was a bit awkard at first, cause i was 1 batch of students older than all of them, plus they were in school uniform, while me on the other hand, casual wear. At first i thought it would be that way the whole day, but thankfully, the feeling only lasted for say, the entire mrt trip down to little india. Met 2 new people, Felicia and Sook ching. Not entirely sure if i spelt the name correctly. Sook ching...shes the type of noisy girl. Funny funny funny. Felicia is more a soft spoken one, and she hates spice just like me. Down with chilli! Ok not really... A group of 7 of us,all younger than me(excluding me that is...) went to Muthu's curry..some super cool indian restaurant. I must say, i'm quite raciest. I never thought an indian restaurant could be that grand. Though the food wasn't exactly my type of taste, i'll probably give it a 7.5/10 where the 0/2.5 goes to food. The service was fast. really really fast. Even the toilets were super nice. Automatic soap dispensers and stuff. Oh, and indians have weird food appetizers. Seriously! they eat funny tasting herbs that taste like Sarsi. Its true to say sarsi is exactly a herb, but the soft drink is a drink! not a hard piece of herb. It tasted really really bad. The after taste was worst. Never the less, Muthu's curry was indeed a posh restaurant. After that, we explored Little india. I've only been to little india once or less, not even sure myself. Clara wanted to buy a pair of indian ear rings so badly, we ended up finding the shop. After a brief stroll and much controversy, we marched down to Bugis where I got the most expensive haircut in my life. The hairdresser/barber/hairstylist was powerful. She used 2 pairs of scissors at 1 insane... it was almost as if she was on a killing spree...aiming at my hair. I lost 3/4 in a mere 5 minutes. The cut wasn't too bad, though its way to short for a so called "messy" feel. After a bit of fooling around and mac-flurry, me clara and andre headed in the west direction.

Upon reaching home, i rampaged through my war-torn room in search for some stuff, packed my bags for band chalet with such haste that i exactly forgot to switch off the lights and fan. Soon was i to realise, that because of this plus an unpacked room, my pocket money was going to be on hold for 2 straight weeks. Thankfully i had some money due to exam results left. Also, i realised Nanda was gonna be in 1G1 nxt semester. Welcome welcome welcome!

As if now, i just got back from chalet.I must say it was quite fun, apart from my incapability to run around freely due to a startling pain on my middle leg. Never the less, i quite enjoyed myself. Its a throughly expensive place to stay for 3 days. I easily spent over 50 bucks. I probably slept for about 1/2 an hour in the first 2 days and now that i'm home, zzzzzzzzz like mad yeah yeah! tired tired tired! Well good night folks, Nick will be back for more retarted chats with mr lunt!

11/21/2004 Deep fried ice-cream

My title has in no way, any relevants to what i'm gonna post in this entry. Just couldn't really think of a stylish opening.

Band camp has just ended, and walla, here i am, typing an entry into my blog after 2 months. I've learnt quite a lot during the warcraft cum band camp , made some new friends and of couse grown closer to some. Bed time: 4am was quite a delightful torture. Within 3 days, I've played almost all my wc3 maps i've downloaded plus maps i never knew existed like Dota. On top of that, my lower lip is smarting. All i need to do is touch the region around it and poof, it starts to give off jolts of piercing arrows in all directions.

An important lesson: Never play wrestling on the road, to be precise, on a declining tar road. Its one thing to bring a toothbrush and another thing to forget to brush my teeth. Kinda terrible, if you think about it.

My clarinet section is quite terrible. Seriously, there are only a few committed members. Never has there been a practise completed with full strength. Fsb and acband was almost the perfect opposite. I sometimes feel sad that i left a government school for a tertiary institute. Was that the best choice? Nevertheless, I've learnt quite a lot from Aikkee Tan, Npband's conductor, even though i find him more a technical person than musically inclined.

Music aside, the rest of the camp was quite a success. We had some team building games as well. For the first time i see an encouraging form of productive competition. Even though i did not get to enjoy the games, I definitely enjoyed having people shouting "Nicholas is the best!".

Npband's many traditions once set by the now alumnis of the band is definitely not in my liking zone. I dare say its inefficiency is causing the band's downward spiral. Of course, there is the ex-president who has a mind of his own. Its weird to see your president playing mahjong during sectionals time last camp, now this camp he refuses to play team building games. All hail, the president of destruction, for those who are not with you are against you. I'm becoming quite a
hypocrite. I definitely hope to see an improvement. Like i said, he was the ex-president.

Bathing and sleeping are hazardous actions. Bathing cubicals have no hooks, as a result, ever so often users tend to get their clothes wet, not by shower, but by gravity pulling on the clothes. As if that is not that bad, there are only 4 bathing cubicals. If time is money, I'm be a pauper. Also, sleeping on mats that are dirty dirty dirty and dirty, just imagine something like a bed that has been in used for a long time and never washed. Eeeeeyuck.
