Having just arrived home from a 4 day 3 night chruch camp, followed by "the incredibles" (Second time already hehe) and a load of arcade games, technically, i should be super tired. Unfortunately(maybe its the opposite), I'm not very tired even though i did fall asleep(the middle of sleep and deep thoughts actually) on the bus and overshot 1 stop. Feel this urge to share what I've learnt from the camp and how i enjoyed the camp.
Before that though, On the first day of camp, monday. We were supposedly to gather in chruch at around 9am, with the group leaders and commitees meeting up earlier to pray. However, my personal timetable decided that i go to the camp site much much later. I met up with Jonathan and Jianxiang, 2 fellow commited band friends previously from fsb. We being the same batch, do know each other quite well. We discussed about some issues concerning the future of fairfield's band.(a bit of anti-miss lims here and there) It was decided that we organise a chalet to gather 2 batches of fsb graduates. The 2003 and 2004 batch of fsbians. Obversely, we do have ulterior motives. But it doesn't matter. 1 step at a time. So far as of now, responds are very very good. No one has rejected the idea, except for daniel whose going overseas. Thats very sad :( but nvm.
After the general discussions, I headed off towards Outram Park where the camp site was suppose to be. Only problem was i wasn't sure. Never the less, after walking in the opposite direction for a mere 10 mins, i finally found hope at hope centre. Thats the name of the building hosting us. Upon arrival, i headed up to the 6th floor. The building is rather modern, considering the fact that cards replaced keys and automated computer controlled door locking systems existed. As i stepped in, confused at all the eyes looking at me, i took sometime to locate my group. Felt kinda bad that my games group named patience had already gathered....all except the leader. Coincidentally, they were discussing the camp rules(the only thing i contributed beforehand to the camp) I don't know how the peoople knew i did it, but ya.
Seriously, was it that easy a guess? I'm tired. Continue tmr morning.
From here, I have just woken up and obversely, i am editing this post. Well the picture isn't very detailed as it is. Colossians 3:5-11 says, "5Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 7You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all." Well, even though this is a chruch youth camp, the people in it are afterall humans who fall short of god's grace. So hard it is, to enter god's kingdom. I guess rules 1 & 2 was kinda ignored. After all, Jonas the camp commandent never said that this rules were for following. It was more of guildlines and general limitations. I myself, broke 5 rules. Despite a few booboos ,quite bad time management on the hold and stressed up heads, I personally felt the camp was quite a success as we had hit the objective of the camp, that is "we hope that in this camp, you'll learn how not to only trust god better, but to trust in him faithfully. Apart from learning more on your walk with god, we hope that you'll get to know existing friends better and of course, make new ones. lastly do have a great four days togehter with all of us for the nxt four days!"
And to my group, "patience", i thank you for your support. My role as your group leader, i have enjoyed. At first, I wasn't sure i was the right choice. Very sure i am, that i did quite a good job. Our group, though age gap was really big, bonded quite well together. Leanne, the youngest girl, 12 yrs young, definitely is the most mature 12 yr old i've ever seen. Sweet girl who loves hokkien mee. Following that, we have Sean. Quiet boy, but definitely intelligent. More the deep thinker that i wonder when this type of people bottle up their expressions so much, they are like time bombs ticking away seconds, soon to explode to bits, affecting others around them. Also, we have Weihao. Personally, i think that weihao has a very unusual charactor which i definitely won't consider normal...more critically, he needs a psychiatrist. Despite his many contributions to the group socially, thats about all he did as well as disappearing in the second station of amazing race aka run like crazy. Moving on, we have Jonas, who is the camp commandant. He was always quite buzy, but we don't blame him for not being with us all the time. So challenging it is, to be a head and body all at the same time. Next, we have June, a very influencial girl. She's the outward girl. The type that would bring new people into the real world. Internally, June was just june :P. Then the oldest,Caleb. He by far, contributed the most. A biased person as i am, i found Caleb the nicest person in the group. He obversely was an intelligent person. Considering that i am, after all a frog in one of the many worldly wells, I might not even know whats more intellectual even if its blinking its eyes in my face.
Patience on the whole, was quite a fun group. I got to see so much more of sean and jonas acting tall as usual. My personal objective nxt yr is to learn more musical instruments. To be precise, i want to learn more of every instrument except brass and flute and the violin family.
